Feedback from the Spin issue from March 2003
Eagerly awaiting the opening
of the sisters of mercy-land
- I want to compliment you on the goths
in Disneyland article ("something wicked this way comes"). Given
the media's tendency to portray goths as either stupid or evil,
it was a pleasant surprise to read a piece by a writer who understands
the subculture enough to capture Bats Day accurately. As someone
who is friends with the coordinator of Bats Day and has attended
the event since it began, I can say that your objective, educated,
and witty coverage pleased us all.

Thanks for continuing to perpetuate
stereotypes and spread misinformation about goths. And for the last
time: Marilyn Manson is not Goth. ~ Rae Licari Bellevue, Nebraska
- I loved "something wicked this way comes".
I myself am not goth but sympathize with a subculture that doesn't
relate to the masses. (I have a grateful dead past) Writer Chuck
Klosterman rocks! Thanks for a great read.
